Artist's Comments

this is steven.

he is homeless.

he has the kindest most radiant soul you can imagine.

he loves seattle, LA and chicago.
he dislikes san diego.

he reads anne rice, adores michelangelo and
likes to visit museums.
(he had me at michelangelo).

he says most everyone is nice to him
and only about 1 in 100 people
are assholes.

that's not too shoddy.

stories.

sit down with someone like steve
and swap stories.

it will change who you are.

* the white outline around his head is
not due to treatment. it's just the way
the gameworks awning looks framed
around his head.
or maybe he's an angel..? hahaa.. :floating:

FULL-VIEW, for me. :rose:

Nice shot and a good story to go with that.
:iconiamkatia:
thanks dear. :aww:

btw, did you get your photo back?

Wow, such a fantastic story behind this picture! He's such a good looking young man, it's very sad that's he's homeless. He seems to be so inteligent by what you say about him; I think he will become something one day.
Oh, and it's an awesome photograph too; I love it!!! :)

And, my goal is to talk to a homelss person now... I will do it, and let you know when I post the pic of my life-changer. Thanks for the inspiration! :) Your so great!

Once again, another nice shot. I walk by GameWorks almost everyday, since it's a block or two away from my place.

How did you approach him? Just walk up and start talking? I need to work on approaching random people and walking away with a picture.
:iconakahive:
 that shot has got such a hopefull touch, great picture katia

Nice work once more. I've been there (homeless) a couple times. Wish I had the same outlook from it as Steven does. THen again I was in Idaho during one of those times, small town, Phoenix was a bit better as noone really noticed, place is so big.
That time did teach me a lot about people, mostly my 'friends'. I found out what real ones were and which weren't.

Steve looks like he has a lot of the Divine spark. And about angels? I can't quote it verbatim, but I know there is a Biblical passage advising everyone to treat everyone well, "..for some have entertained angels unawares." If you want I'll look it up for you. You never know. :)

I don't know you at all, but ya seem pretty cool so far, katia. Whatever ya learned from your past, you seem to have learned it very well, and I'm glad to see your work and hear you're happier without things of the past. Keep going, you're doing great... I'll be watching, CC :)

If you see Steven again, tell him I said hello. He's got a great outlook concerning people. Something to aspire to, personally. And museums ARE great !

wonderful portrait you did. probably because the model is wonderful man (as you wrote). So portrait can be beautiful when the model has beautiful mind, not perfect body. Dont you think dear?
